Ron Howard, classic TV icon turned big-shot Hollywood director was awarded $605,000 Monday after a jury found he was defrauded by a Malibu real estate investor. Howard will donate the money in excess of litigation costs to charity.

Forget “St. Elmo’s Fire” and “The Breakfast Club,” the ’80s brat-pack is back – sort of. Sunday’s “E! True Hollywood Story” (8 p.m.) will take a look at the life and times of Emelio Estevez, Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Ally Sheedy and the rest of a group of young stars who showed America how dangerous mixing bad haircuts and drugs could be.

Media mogul Barry Diller and actress Tracy Ullman will be featured this week on “NewsStand: CNN & Entertainment Weekly.” Diller, the owner of the USA Network, will share his offbeat vision for changing the face of local TV news, which he says has become unwatchable.
