‘The Vampire Diaries” is getting an evil spawn.

To be called “The Originals,” the spinoff would be about the first vampire family in the world — the Originals — a story that first popped up on the show a few years ago.

The new show would air as a one-time special in April, the same night “Vampire Diaries” returns from hiatus.
