WHILE politics may make strange bedfellows, the marriage of music to the Obama presidential run has been pretty sweet.

To celebrate that union, the Presidential Inaugural Committee today releases the official commemorative CD/DVD “Change Is Now: Renewing America’s Promise.” It’s not only a souvenir of this historic election, it is also pretty good listening you might want to play for the next four years.

As you’d expect, Stevie Wonder is featured singing his bouncy “All About the Love Again.” Will.i.am gets funky with “It’s a New Day,” Melissa Etheridge rasps “God Is in the People,” and Jennifer Hudson injects soul into the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

In all there are 18 tracks without a dud. To remind you why this disc was made, there are also several inspiring Obama sound bites laid between tracks. For the historians, the accompanying DVD includes eight of President Obama’s campaign speeches from the announcement of his run to his election-night victory speech.

History isn’t cheap. The collection costs $30 and is only available online at pic2009.inauguralcollectibles.com.
