Longtime Ch. 2 anchor/reporter Vic Miles died Wednesday night at the age of 79.

The well-respected, versatile Miles spent 24 years at Ch. 2 from 1971 to 1995.

“When I started at Channel 2 News 21 years ago, I was in awe of Vic,” current Ch. 2 anchor Dana Tyler told mediabistro.com, which first reported Miles’ death. “This veteran reporter and anchor welcomed me here.

“He was kind, smart and so real and we all learned from him.”
