VOGUE HAS A HEART ON
While some fashionistas are pushing their flag-festooned clothes to the back of their closets once again, American style bible Vogue magazine is peddling patriotic fashions for a cause.
Instead of splashing a St. Laurent-clad “Santa” model across the cover of the magazine’s December issue, which goes on sale this week, editor Anna Wintour chose a beach-side photo of supermodel Gisele Bunchen wearing a baggy “Mended Heart” T-shirt, the result of a collaboration between the magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Fashion for America Fund.
If all 140,000 T-shirts are sold, that would pour as much as $3 million for the Twin Towers Fund. They’re currently on sale at over 400 stores nationwide, including Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue and online at http://www.Style.com.
