WEATHER CH. BLOWS OFF AD
THE Weather Channel has banned a CBS ad promoting the network’s new fictional miniseries, “Category 6: Day of Destruction.”
In response, CBS is advertising the natural disaster film as “The movie the Weather Channel does not want you to see.”
The 10-second spots began running last Sunday.
“It never even dawned on us that it would be an issue,” said George Schweitzer, CBS’ executive vice president of marketing and communications. “This being a big natural disaster television miniseries, we thought it was a great idea.”
