WHAT IT’LL COST YOU
High school proms haven’t changed much – the tux, corsage, dancing and lackluster food are still the norm. The biggest diff is how much money it takes you to get there.
Good news for guys: These days, it’s OK to share. “Everyone realizes that prom is a huge expense and it’s only fair that everyone split the cost of renting the limo, buying the prom tickets, going to the after party, things like that,” says Jorge Ramon of Teen People.
The limo – this year, it’s the super-stretch Hummer – is a prom’s hottest and most expensive accessory (14 people at $1,800 to $3,000, depending on the day). To break down the the total cost, we consulted the folks at the teen glossy Twist.
