This is not a joke: A major security firm in San Diego is incorporating how to defend against a zombie attack — just like on “Walking Dead” — into its annual Counter-Terrorism Summit, according to MilitaryTimes.com.

The annual five-day event, which features sessions run by former government intelligence and military leaders, features hands-on training sessions in settings that are replicas of Middle Eastern villages and West African pirate hideaways.

But the newest addition, called “Zombie Apocalypse” is getting all the pre-summit attention.

The idea has at least some basis in reality — a Centers for Disease Control report last year outlined the problems of dealing with a natural disaster or viral pandemic that could turn large segments of the population against each other.
