COLDPLAY dominated the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart for the third consecutive week.
The Chris Martin-led Brit band’s disc “X&Y” sold 186,000 more CDs last week to bring its total number of sales to 1.2 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Mariah Carey continued her comeback, hitting No. 2, up from No. 4. Her “The Emancipation of Mimi” has now sold almost 2.2 million copies.
The highest-ranked debut disc on this week’s chart comes from Boyz N Da Hood, at No. 5, with a self-titled disc, buoyed by the hit hip-hop single “Dem Boyz.”
“The Way It Is,” the debut disc from R&B upstart Keyshia Cole, bowed at No. 6, boosted by the single, “(I Just Want It) To Be Over.”
Offspring scored the No. 8 position with its greatest-hits collection, which includes the hit single and new track “Can’t Repeat.”
Lastly, in the debut department, the artist known as Birdman – Cash Money CEO and rapper Bryan “Baby” Williams – scored the No. 9 spot with “Fast Money.”
