A former “MasterChef México” contestant and popular TikTok influencer died in a heartbreaking car crash when she slammed into a parked car over the weekend, authorities said Wednesday.

Yanin Campos, 38, who placed sixth on the reality cooking show in 2018, was driving an SUV in her hometown of Chihuahua at 6:30 a.m. Saturday when she lost control and crashed, Mexican Secretariat of Public Security officials told local newspaper El Financiero.

Campos was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died two days later, according to authorities, who are investigating whether speeding played a role in the accident, the outlet reported.

Campos’s brother Raúl announced her untimely death in a Facebook post.

“To family and friends. We inform and mourn the death of my sister Yanin Campos,” he wrote, adding details about her wake.

Yanin also appeared on MasterChef México: La Revancha — meaning  “the revenge” — in 2019 before launching a career as a lifestyle-centric content creator with 100,000 followers on TikTok.
