POP-princess Hilary Duff is getting into the swing of things with her own weekly baseball segment on a new cable sports show for kids called “Kids on Deck.”

“She’s one of the largest teen icons in entertainment,” says YES Network executive producer John Filippelli. “She’s huge, and we’re trying to woo a teen audience.”

Filipelli describes the show as similar to the kids Saturday morning sports show from the 1980s called “The Baseball Bunch,” which was hosted by slugger Johnny Bench, or the 1950s kids show, “Let’s Take a Trip!“

Duff will host “Hilary’s Hits” in which she’ll explain baseball terminology and jargon.
