Fans are flipping out.
Over a decade after Nickelodeon’s hit dramedy “Zoey 101” went off the air, the stars reunited for a dinner in Los Angeles on Monday — although leading lady Jamie Lynn Spears couldn’t make it.
Still, reboot rumors are swirling at a fever pitch, especially on the heels of news that Spears is in talks with Nick execs. Set 10 years in the future, the reboot would feature Zoey as a mom.
“We miss you, we wish you could be here,” much of the cast — Chris Massey (Michael), Sean Flynn (Chase), Victoria Justice (Lola), Matt Underwood (Logan), Abby Wilde (Stacey), Paul Butcher (Dustin), Jack Salvatore (Mark), Erin Sanders (Quinn) — of the tween hit said together, in a video to Spears, before belting out the show’s theme song in chorus. “We’re gonna work on our vocals,” Flynn joked in the video.
“Not only did I miss the reunion, but I also missed the FaceTime, because I’m lame and fell asleep,” Spears captioned an Instagram repost of the video. Austin Butler, who played James, was also unable to make it.
The evening, which TMZ reports started around 8 p.m. at The Front Yard restaurant in North Hollywood, was a relatively impromptu reunion organized by show creator Dan Schneider.
“Some Zoey 101 buzz got me talking with my good friend Sean Flynn (Chase) … and within about 72 hours, this happened!” Schneider wrote in an Instagram post. “Jamie Lynn is busy shooting her new show in Atlanta. We missed you, congrats!”
The show, which ran for four seasons, ended two months after Spears, then 16, got pregnant by her boyfriend (later, ex-fiancé) Casey Aldridge. She gave birth just weeks after the show’s finale in May 2008.
