CNN has axed its senior editor of Mideast Affairs after she tweeted about the death of a controversial Hezbollah leader.

Octavia Nasr was canned after she tweeted on July 4, “Sad to hear of the passing of Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah . . . One of Hezbollah’s giants I respect a lot.”

Fadlallah, who justified suicide bombings, was believed to be responsible for the 1983 suicide bombing of a US Marine barracks in Lebanon which killed 237 soldiers.

“We believe that [Nasr’s] credibility in her position . . . has been compromised going forward,” CNN senior VP Parisa Khosravi said a memo obtained by media-ite.com.
