Readin’, writin’ and rockin’?

It was a “Beautiful Day” in the Bronx this morning when legendary rock band U2 performed at Fordham University as part of a concert that aired on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The Irish rockers dedicated their set to the throng of college kids who showed up for the show — calling on them to enjoy the musci as well as hit the books.

“We formed a rock ‘n’ roll band so we could get out of college,” said frontman Bono. “Maybe if it looked like this, or felt like this, things could’ve been different.”

Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. said the campus gig fulfilled a lifetime ambition for his dad, who was disappointed his son never got a degree.

“I’m so excited to be here, but I’m just so pleased for my dad because he’s going to see this sometime soon and he’s gonna say, ‘My son Larry finally made it to college,’ ” he joked.
