Julia Stiles has signed on to star alongside comedian Dane Cook and “Away We Go” actor Josh Hamilton in the Broadway production “Fat Pig” — a commentary on society’s treatment of overweight people, according to a report Tuesday in The Hollywood Reporter.
In the show set to open in April, Stiles plays the ex-girlfriend of a handsome bachelor (Hamilton) who ends up falling for a plus-size soul mate — though he is ashamed of her physical appearance.
“Fat Pig” originally opened Off-Broadway in 2004, starring Jeremy Piven and Keri Russell and later ran in London and Los Angeles.
Stiles, 29, began her showbiz career in a NYC theater troupe and late went on to star in blockbuster films including “Save the Last Dance,” “Mona Lisa Smile” and the Bourne trilogy.
The actress, who received a Golden Globe nomination for her 10-episode guest role on the Showtime TV series “Dexter,” made her Broadway debut in 2009 in David Mamet’s “Oleanna.”
