US-Ghana sets record
Saturday’s US-Ghana World Cup game, as predicted, set records for TV watching here — about 15 million viewers on ABC.
The numbers are still preliminary, but they indicate that another 4 million watched on Spanish-language network Univision.
Saturday’s game still did not beat the most-watched US soccer game ever — the 1999 Women’s World Cup final won by the US (made famous by Brandi Chastain’s sports-bra moment) which was seen by 18 million viewers.
