WILBON HAS HEART ATTACK
MIKE Wilbon, co-host of ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption,” suffered a minor heart attack on Monday and underwent an emergency angioplasty at a hospital in Arizona, officials say.
“He’s still in the hospital resting,” an ESPN spokesman said yesterday. There’s no timetable for Wilbon’s return to the air. Wilbon, 47, in Scottsdale for ESPN’s Super Bowl coverage, felt tightness in his chest early Monday. Doctors discovered a blockage in one of the main arteries to the heart.
“PTI” will use substitute anchors in Wilbon’s absence.
