Kim Kardashian fought the law — and the law won.

The reality TV star — and prescription drug spokesperson — took to social media Sunday night right in the middle of the MTV Video Music Awards to post risk information and use limitations for the morning sickness medicine she is promoting.

Federal regulators had reached out to drug maker Duchesnay Inc. about Kardashian’s Instagram and Twitter posts about Diclegis. She had recommended the medicine but did not give her fans any of the boilerplate side effect the drug can cause.

While Kardasian didn’t apologize for the oversight, she came clean about why she was posting the info.

“I guess you saw the attention my last #morningsickness post received,” she said on her Instagram post Sunday night.

“The FDA has told Duchesnay, Inc., that my last post about Diclegis (doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine HCl) was incomplete because it did not include any risk information or important limitations of use for Diclegis,” Kardashian noted. “A link to this information accompanied the post, but this didn’t meet FDA requirements. So, I’m re-posting and sharing this important information about Diclegis.”

The 34-year-old TV star then included all the usual boilerplate info folks have grown used to seeing on TV and in newspapers and magazines.

Kardashian’s posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter carried the hashtag #CorrectiveAd. Earlier this month, the Food and Drug Administration advised Duchesnay about Kardashian’s original paid endorsement omitted important safety information.

In July, Kardashian heaped lots of praise on Diclegis, with her usual understated, “OMG. Have you heard about this?”

Those posts have been taken down.
