About one in 11 New Yorkers have had a recent battle with depression, according to the findings in a first-of-its-kind city survey released Friday.

Nine percent of Big Apple adults said they had a bout of depression in 2016, according to the study released by the Health Department.

Latinos had the highest rate of reported depression at 13 percent — nearly twice the rate suffered by white people, at 7 percent.

About 8 percent of African-Americans said they had a bout of depression and 5 percent of Asian and Pacific Islanders reported instances.

“This report underscores what we already know to be true — no community is immune to depression,” said Public Advocate Letitia James.

“It is more critical than ever to provide treatment and fight the stigmas associated with mental health.”
