Adult-home workers regularly threaten to send misbehaving elderly and mentally ill patients to the psych ward, according to a nonprofit law firm.

The employees, who work at 19 facilities across the five boroughs, make “unnecessary” 911 calls to “retaliate against residents for reasons such as complaining about their living conditions or refusing to take their medications,” says a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit filed Thursday.

The law firm, MFY Legal Services, now wants a court order to compel the NYPD to release three years’ worth of call data.

In July, the NYPD denied MFY’s Freedom of Information Law request for the records, citing an “invasion of personal privacy.”

MFY argued that “the balancing of privacy interests and public interests favored disclosure of the requested materials,” the suit says.
