Bird enthusiasts are chirping up a storm after a recent sighting of a rare Swainson’s warbler in Central Park. See more fab feathered friends at a Bronx Zoo bird walk on Saturday (bronxzoo.com/birdathon).
Meanwhile, back at Central Park, avian photographer and local Birding Bob tour guide Deborah Allen says to keep an eye out for these stunners this weekend.

This bird boasts jet-black feathers and a bright orange belly and throat. Allen says: “It’s more orange than a Cheeto, and when the sun hits it’s just spectacular.”

Serious birders will wait for hours just to get a peek at this elusive, yellow-bellied songbird, who spends most of his time hiding in the shrubs.

Wanna spot this flame-feathered flier? Look at the top of any tree and you may catch a flash of its resplendent red coat.

A rare male bobolink is reportedly making the rounds in Central Park this week. The black-and-cream bird looks like it’s sporting a “backward tuxedo” and has a discordant squawk.
