It’s a test of characters.

Wordle isn’t the only game that’s revealing people’s true colors: US science site Fact Factories has devised a puzzle that gauges people’s personality based on which word they select first.

“The first word that you see in this word search describes and reveals your character and who you are as a person,” reads the description on the puzzle-nality test’s website, which avoids delving into the specific science behind the game.

Specifically, participants are urged to look at a picture with six words hidden inside — each of which allegedly determines a person’s most prominent character traits.

Think a Myers-Briggs test combined with a word search. Which word do you see first?

Power

For instance, if players initially see the word “power” — in the far right column — this means that they enjoy taking responsibility.

“You don’t mind working in stressful environments, and you do better under pressure than most people do,” Fact Factories wrote of these power-players. You don’t make assumptions; you analyze the situation and act accordingly. You don’t leave anything up to faith.”

They added, “Instead you take control and motivate everyone to work with you through all kinds of challenges and difficult situations, until you’ve finally achieved your goal.”

Task

Meanwhile, players who initially saw “task” are reportedly uber-committed to their job, and take great pains to not let their boss down. Or, if the taskmaster is the boss themself, they ensure the people working under them always feel “appreciated, motivated and valued,” per the character study.

Fact Factories summed it up like this: “When you set your mind on something it’s quite difficult for someone to make you change directions.”

They’re also probably detail-oriented given that “task” is spelled backward in the top row of the word search.

Animal

Often synonymous with psychopaths in street vernacular, an “animal” in this instance is simply someone who is enamored with wildlife.

Animal-spotters are shy and caring individuals, per the site. And while they may seem socially awkward on the surface, these nature-lovers enjoy hanging out with likeminded individuals with whom they feel “safe and welcome.”

Home

Those who initially saw “home” are described on the site as “loving and caring” individuals who don’t let others define them (they might not even agree with this test). They tend to mediate conflicts, and generally prioritize family over money and power.

Lover

Lover might bring to mind Romeo or another romantic figure, however in this case the term just describes someone who is “energetic, blunt and charming.”

“Your personality type makes you stand out in a group, and always leaves a positive impact on others,” FF wrote. “You like being a performer and an entertainer and you’re always ready for an adventure.”

They added, “your honesty and sense of humor are your secret weapons and people love you for that.” So yes, perhaps these traits would make someone the ideal lover.

Team

Those who initially saw “team” are — you guessed it — team players. Per the site, “the qualities that you possess make you very good at personal relationships as well as a good co-worker and team player.”

“Your analytics skills are amazing and you are always open to change and new ideas,” they added.

Much like their “task”-oriented counterparts, team players “always make sure that everyone feels appreciated and valued, and that no one is excluded in any way.”

In a similar personality test from last spring, internet users revealed their true colors by playing a game that assigns people a pigment based on their personality.
