Snow blanketed a few cities in the country’s southern region a week ago, bringing out the most creative types to try their hand at fashioning Frostys — with hilarious results.

It didn’t take a genius to figure out that nearly all of the snowmen builders had never seen snow — the city of Curitiba, for example, has had snow only three times in recorded history

“So in Brazil we were just hit by a huge cold front and in some parts of the country, people are seeing snow for the first time” the Tumblr account belonging to “Homo Sex Shoe Whale” noted. “Now Brazilian media is filled with American influences, so we’ve seen a lot of snow on TV and now that we finally get our hands on the stuff, we decide to have some fun right. The problem is that Brazilians really don’t know how to build snowmen.”

Later, the account noted: “Brazilian media is now calling our snowmen ‘Chernobyl Olafs’”
