3.1 Phillip Lim
Designing for the woman who occupies the space between disco and punk, Phillip Lim was attempting to design young/old clothes for an easy/fussy woman and guess what? He did just that.
She likes texture and boldness in her clothes, as with Lim’s blown-out check mohair jeans or any number of his shorts (in denim, wool, fringed boucle or a more formal pair). Color? Apparently not — there were literally two hot pink numbers, while most of the palette fell in the sky tones from blue to black.
Lim showed a deft hand when it came to shearling. He presented a trio of pieced lambskin/shearling coats that were simply breathtaking with their textural, not too heavy looking appearances.
And then there were the expected dresses and blouses and such. It was a nicely thought-out collection.
