Having shtick can be great for a boutique so long as it actually sticks. And I think True Boutique, a recently opened shop on Mott Street, has the shtick that will stick. Because there’s an onsite tailor who will whip up a hem, take in a pair of James Jeans in the waist or adjust the shoulders on a Dallin Chase frock. And it’s gratis. As a gal who is only 5’0 and still has three brand new pairs of jeans (that I bought in the fall) sitting in my dresser because I am too lazy to take them to the tailor for a hem, this is an amazing concept. And owner Katie Campbell also carries sizes 00 to 16 in some dresses and jeans that are exclusive to her store only, so there’s something for every shape and size. The small space is feminine without being fussy and Katie herself is a cool chick with an approachable style that’s no BS. She just believes that clothes should fit properly. I have to agree.
