A VIEW TO A THRILL
WE couldn’t help but notice that one of the main trends this fall – all that hard-edged shine, leather, punk hardware, ankle boots and black – has a distinctly post-’80s French flavor, specifically auteur Luc Besson’s “La Femme Nikita” and “The Fifth Element.” Both feature a female hero, one saving the world and the other saving herself. It’s a fashion dilemma: What to wear on these trying days at the international office of espionage?
Something tough, built for speed, a little intimidating – a Euro mod look befitting an anti-heroine, a femme fatale on a quest. Mission accomplished. You better tell her she looks nice, or she’ll kill you.
