ADAM by Adam Lippes is one of those collections that is always nice — not incredibly directional or edgy — but there’s always something that sticks with you.
For spring, he takes his inspiration from the African island of Lamu, a melting pot of five or six cultures. Colors were muted, sun bleached, perhaps, except for a vivid indigo used for a couple of long, lean dresses. There was a sweet floral print used for little T-back tanks — and really cleverly, for a pair of strappy sandals.
There was lots of native bling — beads, shells, and even coins — that looked weighty, but interesting.
