Women have always had to be pretty fashion-forward to pull of Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch’s looks, but for fall he put a bit more of a democratic spin on things. In fact, his vision took to the open fields, where he found inspiration in the humblest of work wear. Models sported sun hats of woven palm leaves, protective gloves in the form of chiffon tied at the wrist, and, in one case, what was almost certainly a glorified trash bag.

With the romanticized farm theme came the inevitable plaids, ginghams, and twangy soundtrack. But at the end of a hard day’s work, one would imagine that front row occupants like Byrdie Bell would want to slip into something a bit more elegant.
