You could almost hear the strains of “Camelot” as a parade of Jackie Kennedy clones made their way down Moschino’s runway in Milan today.
Getty ImagesSupermodel scion Kaia Gerber led the pack in a vibrant orange skirt suit, matching pillbox hat and that signature voluminous Jackie O bob. Hadid sisters Gigi and Bella joined in the Kennedy twinning, which included bright, matchy-matchy sets, ladylike Mary Jane heels, snappy zippers and straight-out-of-the-’60s sunnies.
But designer Jeremy Scott added an extraterrestrial twist to his blast from the past, painting models faces and skin an electric alien blue and other otherworldly shades — offering plenty of fodder for stylish conspiracy theorists.
He also mixed in pieces from his “Moschino Eyes” pop-art collaboration with artist Ben Frost. The capsule’s motif was evocative: an elegant woman’s beautiful, tear-stained face.
After the daywear separates — including a strong stripe situation on pants and jackets — eveningwear pieces went back to the future via shimmery, ruched dressed with jagged edging. (Including a green number worn by Gigi Hadid that closed out the show.)
Prim and proper, alien and iconic — just another intergalactic day for Moschino.
