Since Amal and George Clooney married one year ago Sunday, the attorney, author and activist has added another occupation to her multi-hyphenate: clotheshorse.

“She’s unapologetic about liking fashion,” says Joe Zee, editor-in-chief of Yahoo Style.

Tall and rail-thin, the 37-year-old rarely wears anything twice from her closet of mostly European luxury ready-to-wear, along with vintage and couture.

Amal has always been a shopper, but pre-George, her go-to brand for work was the ladylike French label Paule Ka paired with, say, an Alice + Olivia bag. These days, the high-profile barrister has insider access to all the top labels, and price is not a barrier. On a given day, it’s not unusual for her to step out in $5,000 worth of zingy designer wares.

“I think she’s taken a page from Princess Diana,” says Mary Alice Stephenson, fashion expert and founder of Glam4Good. “She understands how clothes can draw attention and make a statement.”

While her regalia is admired by fashion aficionados, there are times when it looks out of place. In the spring, she guest-lectured at Columbia Law School in ravishing designer get-ups, including a de la Renta tweed suit and cutout stilettos.

Sometimes Amal is so decked out that she outshines her handsome hubby, like when she wore a gold Margiela dress for the “Tomorrowland” premiere. “Uncle George barely bothered, and Mrs. Uncle George is trying a little hard,” cracked fashion bloggers Tom and Lorenzo on their site.

And yet, on the days when Amal goes for a hipster vibe in ripped jeans and clodhoppers, it can be jarring. “She has not found a casual style that totally suits her yet,” says Stacy London, host of TLC’s “Love, Lust or Run” and contributor to “The View.” “Formal just suits her better. She’s too coiffed for that look.”
