In the space of a few months, Awkwafina has gone from wearing Target pants to changing her designer togs seven times a day for fashion shoots. The New York rapper and actress, born Nora Lum, has been doing tons of interviews and red-carpet appearances for her breakout roles in this summer’s “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Ocean’s 8.”

“It’s nice to play dress-up and not look like your normal self all the time,” she tells The Post from her front-row seat at the Longchamp show — the French house’s first for NYFW.

With two movies coming out next year, including her first dramatic lead in a not-yet-titled film by writer and director Lulu Wang, Awkwafina can scarcely believe her good luck.

“It’s been a wild ride, so it’s hard to wake up and see it materialize,” she confesses. “I never expected any of this. I expected to still be working at a bodega.”
