As per usual, BCBG MAXAZRIA kicked off Fashion Week with much fanfare and buzz: The clothes were colorful, cheerful, and light-as-air.
Picking up a bit from last season, bold color-blocking was the theme here, as was the accordion pleat – the latter of which ranged from full-length to accenting hemlines on most of those perfect-for-a-beach-party dresses.
And since this is spring, there was definitely a little skin: slit-shoulder and cut-out back details were subtle, cool, and tres sexy for that girl who doesn’t mind wearing a see-through frock with a neon bralet peeking out from underneath.
Shocking color palettes in almost every color of the rainbow smattered the runway. Particularly cheerful was an electric-hued slim-fit sports jacket: a covet-worthy piece, indeed.
While these clothes might not set this global brand ahead of the fast-fashion game, today’s collection proves that sometimes, there’s nothing wrong with a little tradition.
