The world’s most famous flygirl is also the world’s most famous missing person. Amelia Earhart’s 1937 disappearance over the Pacific is the stuff of legend, as well as the subject of the movie “Amelia,” out Friday. What the world may have forgotten is that, in her time, Lady Lindy cut quite a dashing figure and was something of an early fashionista, albeit in her own eminently emancipated way. She even had a clothing line, A.E., patterned after her own sleek, streamlined wardrobe. You can see the incredibly authentic costumes from the film at Bloomingdale’s on 59th and Lexington. But as these photos show, you can get the sky safari look without being a daring aviatrix.
