Show notes listing each model with either names of songs or simple references to the ’60s next to it — from “Penny Lane” to Queen of the Mod — were only a glimpse into what was to come at the Betsey Johnson show.

The show started with a black and white video of over-excited Beatles fans, followed by short mod skirts, skinny pinstripe suits, fur-lined coats ranging from black and white to eye-popping fuchsia. They were paired with go-go boots to complete the looks. Each look could have been plucked from the muses and girlfriends of the rock stars from the ’60s as well as the current die-hard Betsey fan.

Something everyone waits for occurs at the end of every Betsey Johnson show, when Betsey does her signature cartwheel — this year followed with splits and Russell Simmons, who gave Betsey a pinch on the bum for extra laughs.
