The CFDA winner from Alabama knows how to charm jaded New Yorkers with a little booze, a little bluesy music and a lot of style. His first runway show had all three ingredients and offered up a dandy collection suited best for the VIP tent at an autumn horse race.

Showing why he keeps pace with the leaders of fashion pack, Reid’s men walked in brown-hued blazers, V-necks, camel top coats and double breasted grey suits — all dapper and lux but not too precious.

Reid’s womenswear charged out of the gate with a dramatic blue wrap coat and a blindingly beautiful cobalt pantsuit. It continued nosing ahead with preppy staples like a nubby blue pencil skirt updated with a cropped bomber jacket, an equestrian inspired blanket coat and shades of menswear with tailored blazers, pocket squares and button down collared shirts.
