Cara’s back!
A day after Tweeting a devastating hashtag #WhyIDidntReport about why she kept her alleged sexual assault secret for years, the 26-year-old actress made an empowering runway return at the Balmain show. In a display of strength, the spirited eyebrow icon stuck out her tongue for photographers backstage, then opened the show in armor-like attire mouthing the words to Prince’s “When Doves Cry.”
It was the society beauty’s second appearance on the catwalk since announcing a break from her skyrocketing modeling career in the summer of 2015. The “Suicide Squad” star also walked in Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel Metiers D’Art presentation at Paris’ Ritz Carlton in December 2016.
With rumored girlfriend actress Ashley Benson cheering her on from the front row, a slick-haired Delevingne stormed the catwalk wearing a cropped silver metal top that resembled a breastplate – appropriate given that the brand’s creative director Olivier Rousteing affectionately calls his glamazon models members of the “Balmain Army.” Styled with a silky cream bold-shouldered blazer and matching high-waist pants, the look was very ‘80s power pajama dressing.
Delevingne coolly closed the show in a second high-waisted ensemble: a sleeveless white top molded to her body paired with black shorts-meets-pants.
As she took a finale bow with Rousteing and the rest of his glamazon “army,” it was clear the supermodel’s stiletto’d stride and bubbly personality had been missed.
