Carlos Miele needs to find a new formula. Fast. In front of an exotic crowd that was dressed to the nines, the Brazilian/Italian designer sent down yet another parade of chiffon, satin and organza dresses – both in the mini and maxi variety. Pretty? Sure. Boring? Yep. It’s generally a bad sign when a new collection reeks of seasons past, and this one stunk.

The surprise performance by famed Brazilian singer Seu George didn’t help, either. Walking along the runway while singing proved to be too much to handle, as he ended up stepping on one model’s floor-length dress. Had she actually tumbled, this show may have been worth watching.

At least there was an abundance of pretty colors, including his “tree shadow” print (swirls of royal purple and white) and his “water reflection” print (an ombre pattern that included aqua blues and sea greens), both of which redeemed an otherwise repetitive and uninspiring collection.
