The Who: Writers, editors, photographers and buyers popped in and out of the presentation, held at downtown event venue Center 548.

The What: Titled “Le Normandie,” the collection was inspired by French Art Deco and the work of Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann specifically. Malandrino pegged leather, wool and silk as choice fabrics, rolling out box pleat mini skirts, long dresses with ruffle and ruche detailing and cozy knit outerwear.

The Highlight: Pieces with black embroidery over nude tulle — in leather and velvet — were standouts.

The Takeaway: Malandrino’s feminine separates with tough-girl touches are Concrete Jungle approved.
