Catherine Malandrino’s wash of mineral colors was a perfect foil for a murky Monday morning.

Inky emerald, artichoke, petrol blue, olive and citrine colored her flowing and ornately decorated pieces. The silhouette was slim, with attention paid to fuller shoulders and sleeves, some of which look as though they were sculpted.

Malandrino is best with the details and this season she’s all about embroidering mini bits of fabric to create mosaics of fullness. She actually uses pieces of broken glass to embellish a few dresses for a literal mosiac.

Now if we could only get her to stop showing in the furthest reaches of Chelsea…
