While runways this fall are filled with ’80s trends (from the one-shoulder power dress to fishnets), street style is actually embracing one specific ’90s look that’s been showing up more and more lately — the crop top.

And if you’re a child of the ’90s, then you remember that one person rocked it like no other: Britney Spears. She inspired young girls back then to bare their midriffs with pride. On Thursday night’s “Late Late Show,” Brit’s “Baby One More Time” look was emulated by host James Corden during his latest Carpool Karaoke segment — where he wore a do-it-yourself crop top (a tied up button-down).

While Corden is probably retiring his new style ASAP, there are plenty of stars who are just jumping on board, like, media darlings Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski. They can’t get enough of the revealing tops, showing up day and night sporting the “half shirt.”
