The kids at New York’s High School of the Performing Arts are back with a modern take on the 1980 mega-hit. The new movie — in theaters on Sept. 25 — updates the music and the fashion. But the truth is we’re still digging the cool late ’70s/ early ’80s vibe, complete with dance-appropriate threads you can take into the streets. Legwarmers, tutu skirts, neon accents and leotards are all things you can find in mainstream stores right now. Looks like the kids got what they wanted after all — “Fame” style does live forever.
