The Sisters of Mercy got me at age five in kindergarten, and I haven’t been able to resist plaid every since. Tartan duvets, skirts, shirts, and dresses.

It’s kind of an issue though gems from LL Bean and $34.99 plaid tops from the Gap make it a somewhat reasonable obsession.

Originally $44.50, it has fine pintucks for some girlishness. Pair it with leggins, denim, a pencil skirt; anything but more plaid. It’s the Cardinal rule, unless Avril Lavigne and a million suburban mallrats are your style icons.
