DKNY
Donna Karan’s DKNY collection is surprisingly lean and clean for spring.
Gone are layers and fuller silhouettes and in their place are slim knits, crisp blouses, high-waisted shorts and pants and trim skirts. Almost every look was belted with a wide obi wrap belt in a contrasting color for maximum waist accentuation.
There was a definite contrast between the soft and hard. Flitty, floaty dresses – many with bell sleeves – were the soft relief to some of the more tailored looks. The best sharp look was a tailored three-piece twill sailor pant-suit that was very 1970s YSL.
Colors were simple – navy, orange and gray – and the main accessory used was a floppy hat. If only all fashion was so easy.
