Fashion phenomenon Doo Ri Chung has gone from the boardroom to the basement – and back again. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Class of ’95, Chung worked for six years with Geoffrey Beene, starting as his assistant and later becoming head designer. In 2001 she left Beene to start her own label and began working out of the basement of her Korean parents’ New Jersey dry-cleaning store. Her company has gained momentum and Chung is the co-owner of downtown New York City boutique Klee. Her first collection debuted at New York Fashion Week in 2003. Her website is http://www.doori-nyc.com
