Edun has always been about mixing the delicate with the tough through fabric and print. Soft is never without hard; light and airy never without something heavy. This show explored that concept in new ways. This time, designer Sharon Wauchob took a pretty silk jacquard blouse, added a pair a nylon utility shorts (with sequin detail) and layered a rough fatigue-washed jacket over it. She then switched up the combination countless ways throughout the show.

The short floaty dresses had open backs, but with with thick straps across, giving them a parachute feel. Others hung off the models more seductively — these were called a “suspended utility dress” in the show notes. If there was a takeaway, it was this: the look of boxy mudcloth army jackets over girly, fluttery silk dresses has more sex appeal than we would have otherwise imagined.
