TREND: PASTEL & METAL Anahita, The Post’s fashion stylist, says: Pulling off head-to-toe metallics and pastels is no easy feat. Luckily, designers served up a healthy dose of dreamy, cotton-candy-inspired options for fall. My favorite was this amazing Jill Stuart number, which made my heart leap when it came down the runway. Rosy velvet trim, a sheer blush bodice and lush gold metallic pleats complement this flowing frock, as do the gold glitter and fur-trimmed Miu Miu pumps that have quickly become my go-to party shoe. TREND: NOUVEAU NATIVE Johannah says: I’ve always loved Navajo/Southwestern-influenced fashion, but I usually stick to sporting the style in the form of statement necklaces. But season after season, designers keep coming out with great new prints. For fall, one of my favorites, Rachel Comey, had a few items with an almost unassuming Southwestern influence — like this dress! The tunic is a great unexpected addition. Anahita says: I rarely miss a chance to wear bright colors and bold prints, which is exactly why I’m obsessed with fall’s Technicolor Navajo trend. TREND: FEMME FATALE Anahita says: My fashion fetishes generally include a heavy mixing-and-matching of crystal headpieces, fairy-like dresses and sky-high sparkly heels. Binding myself into skin-tight skirts and see-through shirts is so not my thing (neither is carrying a whip). But being a die-hard fashion girl, I will try anything once. Fall’s sophisticated take on all things fetish was initially intimidating, but the second I slipped on this lace Lover top and Marc Jacobs pencil skirt, I understood the power of a streamlined silhouette. The studded necklace and leopard-print patent leather stilettos add maximum impact to this minimal, no-frills outfit. Johannah says: Yup, the fetish theme is ALL OVER the place this season — and it’s probably easier than you think to incorporate into an already black wardrobe. There’s no way I could wear this dress, with its ruffled sleeves and bustle, and take myself too seriously — which is exactly why I love it! It’s a fun dress for a night on the town.
