The Who:
Tim Blanks, Bruce Pask, The Sartorialist’s Scott Schuman; other insiders who can recall the Cloak days, even more who have no idea to what that refers.
The What:
The source material this season was 80s Russian youth, and so the New Wave soundtrack played on as boys marched in romanticized, well-referenced versions of what a Moscow punk might wear on the day-to-day—washed out sweatshirts, trucker vests, moto jackets, sneaks—all with an ineffably current, luxurious twist. Colors were socialist grey, imperial orange and constructivist purple.
The Highlight:
The brimless “Laszlo” hats seen throughout the show could make a bid for a replacement to the baseball cap.
The Takeaway:
Geller makes smart clothes for smart men.
