Who knew that fuzzy-wuzzy mittens could amp up the ferocity of Altuzarra’s sharp jackets, nipped waists and sleek tailored pants? Though the fox-fur boxer’s gloves were dyed black and white, the “skunk effect” was anything but repulsive.

Karl Lagerfeld’s colorful fur toppers for Chanel, which seem to wink at the most famous bob in the industry, are on everyone’s must-have list. In solid mint green, pale pink, cobalt blue and burgundy, the hats are quintessential Chanel chic with a fashion-forward nod.

True to its rowdy roots, the punk trend shows no signs of settling down. Versace mixed fur details with classic pieces featuring studs, patent leather and plaid, resulting in a sexier side to the hard-edge look.

Designer Consuelo Castiglioni chose fur as the textural accent for Marni’s boxy, subdued and quirky aesthetic this fall, and fortunately, she didn’t exercise restraint. Beaver and fox tufts in warm, rich tones appeared everywhere in the collection,  from capelets and skirt hems to knee-high boots to gloves and drapey stoles.

The 3.1 Phillip Lim fall runway burst with covetable items, but a multi-color fur satchel was the highlight among the accessories. Given Lim’s inspiration for the collection was the “eclectic style of the partners, girlfriends and lovers of the racer generation,” it’s no surprise the bag made us want to speed to his boutique.
