HAUTE LIST
We love group efforts — Matthew Williamson for H&M (in stores April 23), Felix Ray for Target (out now at target.com) and Cadbury for the Easter
Bunny (man, those eggs are good) — but nothing is more exciting than our latest obsession: Hunter & Jimmy Choo.
The functional but cool British Wellie company and the sexy stiletto maker have partnered for the ultimate in rainy-day style — crocodile-printed rubber galoshes with gold hardware.
While the sleek puddle jumpers in black — $395 exclusively at Jimmy Choo stores and jimmychoo.com — don’t hit stores till June 1, and the purply merlot pair aren’t expected until early next week, phone preorders start today (call 866-JCHOOUS) and online May 1 on the company’s Web site.
Cheap shots: Times are tough, blah, blah, blah. Don’t let your beauty routine suffer. Here are two discounts to get you through the next month wrinkle- and frizz-free. For your face: Facial wizard Christine Chin is offering 30 percent off all spa services — including waxing, microdermabrasion and those famous extract-till-you-bleed facials — at her Lower East Side spa (82 Orchard St.). Call 212-353-0503 to make an appointment. For your hair: From April 15 through May 15, Stephen Knoll NY (625 Madison Ave.) is offering a free shampoo and free styling product of your choice ($50 value) with any cut or color service. Cuts at the salon are $135. Call 212-421-0100 to make an appointment.
Perfect 10: Just in time for spring slimming, VitaminWater10 debuts Dest10ation, a pop-up store in SoHo where guests can try four flavors of the new 10-calorie vitamin drink, surf the Web, play Wii and take snaps in the “XXX” photo booth. Carmen Electra launches the drinky-drink destination at an exclusive, celeb-studded party tonight. Maybe fan Audrina Patridge will show! Check it out yourself 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow through April 12 (VitaminWater10 Des10ation, 626 Broadway).
Powder your wig: Lathering, rinsing, repeating, blow-drying and styling sucks away half our mornings, too — so we’re going with dry shampoo. The thirsty, all-natural talc and aluminum hydroxide particles in Jonathan Product’s brand-new Green Rootine Dry Shampoo ($19 at jonathanproduct.com) is paraben-, synthetic-, petrochemical-, phthalate- and silicon-free, so no worries about chemical goop seeping into your brain.
Belles & whistles: The shape wear that holds it together for Eva Longoria Parker and Oprah just got a girly makeover. Haute Contour, Spanx’s new launch, has all the satin, lace and mesh trimmings to make it look like real undies without sacrificing any of the tummy-flattening power. Get it at Saks Fifth Avenue or by calling 888-806-7311.
In the mag: Homegrown independent art, culture and fashion magazine Dossier Journal launches its third issue featuring cover-girl French fashion icon (and daughter of Jane Birkin) Lou Doillon (above). The new issue includes features and editorials with vampire Robert Pattinson, Rachel Maddow, Charles Anastase and Kim Gordon. The still-young magazine has also roped super-stylists Kate Lanphear and Christopher Niquet for its fashion spreads. It hits newsstands April 12 but preorder it for $15 at dossierjournal.com.
Speaking of minerals: We swear by Freeze 24-7’s Ice Crystals exfoliating face wash ($65 at freeze247.com) to keep our skin smooth and breakout-free. The beauty company, which specializes in high-tech anti-aging, just released its Freeze & Glow Basics Kit (below, $85 at freeze247.com), a premium mineral-makeup set infused with anti-aging and light-diffusing technologies that promises an instant 96 percent reduction in the appearance of lines, wrinkles, pore size and discoloration. We’ve tried it, and the results, in short, are remarkable.
Dew tell! For that springlike complexion: (1) Laboratoire Reméde’s “Intensive Double Serum” ($130 at blissworld.com) has two nozzles that combine in your hand to fight breakouts and even out skin tone. (2) Avon’s two-headed monster “Solutions” cleansers ($12.50 at avon.com) features two options — a refresher for morning and a makeup-remover for night. (3) DiorSnow “White Reveal Creme” ($85 at Dior counters), a veritable obsession in Asia, just launched stateside and promises diminished dark spots and enhanced radiance. (4) Shu Uemura’s “White Recovery EX+” brightening cream ($55 at shuuemura-usa.com) contains the antioxidant ellagic acid, prune and sakura-leaf extract to block melanin at its root. (5) Powered with coco beans and acai, Amala’s “Rejuvenating Face Cream” is for drier faces ($116) and launches at Barneys today. (6) La Mer “The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid” ($65 at Saks Fifth Avenue) is a light moisturizer for most skin types.
