Herve Leger had a “moment” in the 1990s when his bandage dress was the thing.

Since that time the company has been sold a couple of times and is now owned and designed by Max Azria who showed this label in Bryant Park Sunday for the first time.

Thankfully, Azria has allowed the collection to evolve in an organic way. Particularly clever was a jacket made of pieced woven wool bandages and cropped sweaters that received the same treatment.

And the bandage dresses? There is a place for them … Somewhere.

As usual, the front row was packed with Joy Bryant, Mandy Moore, Sophia Bush, Christina Millian, Joss Stone, Padma Lakshmi, Amy Smart, Ginnifer Goodwin and so forth and so on.
